[Success] GIGABYTE Z370 Gaming 7 + Intel Core i7-8700K + RX 580 + (2x) Dell P2715Q 4k @ 60Hz

Hi @JimmakoS hope Greece is a lot warmer than here in Melbourne Australia... it's winter. I'm having problems with my machine not staying in sleep it turns off, then re-starts after 2 seconds then goes to both screens black and then I have to click mouse/ or key for the screens to come on... just like @HackaShaq mentioned.

It is a USB problem as I have run 'wake reason' in terminal and it tells me its a USB error (from my memory).

Could I have a copy of your USB .aml file so I can compile it to a SSDT... to save me time? I'm using all the internal USB ports for my Corsair RGB fans and AIO cooling etc.

TIA Jim

Hello, here is the .dsl file of my USB injection. For the internal USB, two of the bottom is enabled, I have named one Bluetooth and the other Internal USB 2.

Make your changes you want, and you just have to compile it with MaciASL.

I have follow exactly Rehabman's guide -> https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-creating-a-custom-ssdt-for-usbinjectall-kext.211311/

I have attach and my config file to test/compare with yours.

If you need any help, tell me if I can do anything.

Goodmorning from Greece :)

I haven't this "problem". When i put computer to sleep mode all leds is turned off about 27 seconds.

When wake from sleep it takes 2 seconds. I believe sleep is more related to usb and because i have a custom ssdt for the usb i don't have this problem. Everything working just like a real Mac.

In your case i can't understand why can be a memory issue :)

Not related. Ofcourse i have the problem with leds when turn off computer. Leds are stay on and i can't find a solution for that.

That's why i use sleep instead of shutdown. In sleep mode all the leds stay off.

Here is a short video of my setup and the reason why i don't want to turn off leds of the motherboard via Bios.

I like the way it looks like :)

Case: Phanteks P400 Tempered Glass, Corsair SP RGB fans.

LOL, I love it, I'm 60+ (young) but I love RGB lighting... psychedelic rock etc. Here's mine. I have the second RX 580 in the computer below it ATM as I'm using it to run Blender headless (experimenting with ATM), which frees up precious slots for a 10GBit ethernet card soon.

Crazy!! This setup is awesome my friend.

Which keyboard are you using? Because I play some games in Windows environment, and I want o good mechanical keyboard with good support with Mac OS. Now, I have a cheap one, Motospeed CK 104. It is good but not perfect.

Thanks... will do. I started the other day to follow his guide, but got side-tracked with building my Linux server using some 4TB WD reds in RAID 5, still a work in progress, but I have time machine configured on it and it's working OK, but slowly due to only having 1GBit ethernet - hence me wanting 10Gbit... would be great if I could utilise the USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports (10GBit) as a USB link... oh well.

Yes my son who loves gaming came over and went wild when he saw my setup. He said Dad 'you've got a gaming rig!'. LOL
He will get it when I kick the bucket. I don't really game, I'm a semi-retired electronics/software engineer, and I like to keep my hand in with all sorts of Geek stuff! (Old programmers never die!).

The keyboard is a Corsair K95 Platinum and mouse is a Corsair Glaive and the Computer (called Gigantor) has A Corsair H110i AIO and 2 x 140mm & 1 120mm Corsair magnetic levitation RGB fans... very quite. My other Ubuntu Server is called ALFRED... which stands for Another Ludicrous Fxxxing Ridiculous Electronic Device..., used to have one called FRED!

Hey @JimmakoS, greetings from USA! :)

I can't exactly explain why this would happen, but I do know that when I changed the setting back from "32" to "Auto", the problem instantly went away.

I agree that sleep/wake issues are usually realized to USB, and I'm not an expert in this at all. However, when you put computers to sleep, it becomes in a low-power state where all major power-consuming items are off, but RAM is active but in a low power mode, that is why you don't lose all memory settings after sleep. So, in theory, it seems logical that there could be issues with RAM that effect sleep/wake since the RAM is technically still active in a low power state to preserve it. Again, just a guess, but the delayed wake issue was solved when I changed the setting back and rebooted. :)

@HackaShaq, I'll try to replicate this in the next day or so after I've hopefully got sleep behaving. Have you a USB SSDT?

I've got 5 1/2 days off from work tomorrow lunch time... Very strange, but nothing surprises me when it comes to 'Hacking'. Cheers.

I just realised I didn't answer fully your request about the keyboard.

Yes it's the Corsair K95 Platinum fully mechanical which is supported in Linux and macOS by a third party application ckb-next: RGB Driver for Linux and macOS, it also controls the Corsair Glaive RGB mouse. Also Corsair released a macOS alpha/beta driver a while ago on their forum to some users to test, but Corsair have since closed the testing... and nothing has been heard of this maOS version since. I think from what I understood, it was more of one of the developers trying it out under macOS for his own interest, but Windows development has taken him away from any further development for the time being at least.

The ck-next app runs both under macOS and Linux with no problems, other than, since it's a gaming keyboard it has a very high polling rate at 1ms (1000Hz) and as such it does not behave very well if you have the keyboard settings in macOS set to the default repeat rate, so I found that if I set the Key & Delay until repeats to max in macOS Keyboard settings, then I don't have any dropped keystrokes. From memory this was also a issue under Linux, but was solved as above.

I'm also looking at writing some code (basically a wrapper/GUI using this OpenCorsairLink software. Corsair Link is a series of apps from Corsair that allow you to interrogate various parameters of all your USB connected devices. I have the RM850i power supply, H110i AIO water cooler, and ML120/140 RGB fans. The open source version I've had working on macOS/Linux, but I've had some trouble with one of the USB ports not showing the Corsair device thats attached. Hopefully in the next day or so I might have more news as I've got the next 5 days off. More time to hack and debug!

Also the ckb-next software allows you to swap the Windows & ALT keys etc, do macros, very configurable. I have ordered new keycaps for these keys as well as the special function keys, (F1 - F12) like the 'Launchpad' key, i.e. they have the F(x) and logo on them. So it will become a real Mac keyboard when they arrive from the USA next week! I'll post a picture when Ive got them, they are laser etched so that the RGB goodness shines through!

Also as a seperate issue, I've got the Gigabyte RGB SDK for the control of the RGB LEDS on the Mobo including the extra RGB ports. I had a look at the SDK, and they provide a API (MS Windows DLL GLedApi.dll) to do all work. I read somewhere that at least under Linux, you can call window DLL's now using a function (LoadLibrary I think) to load MS DLL's. I haven't confirmed this.

Phew! Sorry for a long response... I talk to much, but this keyboard is fantastic to type on!

Edit: And sorry @HackaShaq, I've seemed to taken this build thread slightly off-topic, again. Sorry.

Hey @jb007, no, I never did the USB SSDT, and simply used the USB setup from the guide.
I have no sleep/wake issues at all, and all USB devices work at full speed.

It's possible my use of the older iMac14,2 helped with USB issues, but I'm not sure. Everything just works, so I'm not complaining. :)

I just wanted to thank you for the awesome guide. My build ended up being pretty similar to yours, but with a GeForce 1060 card and the AlpineRidge thunderbolt instead of firewire. So far so good. I couldn't have done it without the courage your guide gave me.
