ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe - BIOS 1401 Advise!

Please don't patch the BIOS firmware! Flash the unpatched BIOS Firmware, use TSCAdjustReset.kext, disable MSR Lock in the BIOS, and report back with results and observations until we have a solid feedback and experience to work on.

Original unpatched ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe BIOS Firmware including the iMac Pro Splash Screen image attached below.

Good luck and enjoy,

There is no MSR Lock feature in the BIOS after searching the manual however it should be disabled from what you wrote in the guide.

I can't see any MSR Lock feature in the BIOS here

.. go to /Advanced/CPU Configuration/MSR Lock Control and change to "DISABLED"

Good luck..

Update: I just realised when studying your profile that you do not seem to employ any ASUS mainboard.

Note that the entire 1401 BIOS discussion only refers to ASUS mainboards! The same states for the 1301 firmware patching. Don't apply the latter to your ASRock BIOS firmware! o_O

I installed my Logic Pro X and it works fine in Logic performance test even on 32samples processing buffer no problem full 256 tracks with any hassle

Oh ok,

I bought Asus mojo but it was broken and when I noticed ASRock and MSI as they are unlocked as well I understood that ASRock is an option.

Yes, ASRock and MSI are good options, but don't patch their BIOS firmware with the ASUS BIOS firmware patch. ;)

So it’s no longer required to patch ASUS Bios like written in your main guide at page 1, bit it’s enough to update to this version and apply proper bios settings? It would be awesome

How can I help you if you know anyway everything better than me? I am not the one you have to explain something. I use my approach detailed in my different guides and everything works 100% on my systems. If you want to use different approaches or a mixture of different approaches, please go ahead, but please don't complain subsequently here along this thread, moreover if it is obvious that your deviating approaches are not properly implemented at your side.

USB3.0 ports need an HS (3) port and SS (3) port assigned to work! It is not sufficient to implement the SS-port only. Your XHC USB kext is wrong and will never work and please don't explain me how to create an USB XHC kext. I am definitely not the one having issues.. ;)

Don't take it bad but I rather prefer to be out of this unfruitful discussion, my friend.

Cheers,

KGP

Haha
I don’t think you have followed RehabMan’s guide properly. It’s the right way to do things ;)

But anyway, you don’t have to reply to what I was asking. It’s ok to ignore it. ;)
