Wait!!!! Why is the EFI-Folder in .IABootFiles???? o_O
yeah I accidentally copied it there before taking the the screen shot. Its in its own partition named EFI (mos is the installer partition). It wasn't in there when trying to boot from the usb

Used your new command to create the installer, still does not work

Then I cannot help you further... should work as outlined in my guide.

Format your USB Drive with HFS+ and GUID partition table and start from scratch...

Good luck,

Could it be the USB? I've tried multiple units albeit the same type

Could it be the USB?

Maybe...

Good luck..

When you say you modified the stock WiFi card, you mean the card that came with the board and thus your not using up a PCI-E/M2/whatever slot?

I didn’t modify the stock WiFi card. I removed it and put a DW1830 in its place. That is an M2 slot where the rear ports are. It’s that or you have to use a PCIE slot, which I didn’t want to do since there’s multiple options to install in that M2 slot.

Started from scratch, reloaded the unpatched 1301 bios. Tried using UniBeast to create the installer (replaced EFI with yours). Still no luck. Will not load the USB. Thinking I have to replace the motherboard with a gigabyte

Try a different USB flash drive. I had a USB flash drive stop booting. Grabbed another just like it and it worked. Not sure what caused it, how, or why, but that flash drive can’t be booted anymore with even a Windows installer.

I did not tell you to start from scratch including the BIOS patching. I just told you to format the USB Flash Drive and start with the USB from scratch.. Again... you should not use UniBeast with x299...The entire approach works with my ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe. Why you want to replace your mainboard because of your USB issue? o_O....

Going through the debugging process to see what is causing the USB not to boot. If it was an error in my procedure following the guide then the UniBeast would have at least allowed it to boot. If the patched bios was causing the issue then a reflash would have fixed it and I could have dealt with sleep/wake at another point. Before your post to tell me to restart the USB boot process I already reformatted it and started again multiple times.

Even though I have 3 USBs, none of them will work. Am going to purchase a different brand and see what happens.
