Hi Stork ; thanks for your super guide ! :)

I have a question, in SMBIOS generator "iMac 17,1" is 6700k compatible. Can I use that one instead of 14,2 ?
And with 17,1, am I forced to generate SSDT.aml ?

Sorry if it's a very stupid question :)

I shied away from using anything but 14,2 as it just works. I'm currently using it on MyHero II instead of iMac18,3 which blanked out the DP ports on my RX 580 graphics card. So, my recommendation is use iMac14,2.

Thanks for your ultra fast answer. I'm going to listen to your advice as you're way more capable than me

As my CPU is overclocked, I'm going to use the PikeRalpha's ssdtPRGen.sh tool to generate my own SSDL.aml ; I just have to put it in the ACPI>patched folder ? Nothing in particular to tick in the Clover Configurator ACPI section according to your tutorial ? (like DROP OEM or that kind of stuff)?

Thank you Stork :)

I read in some thread recently that Pike's method is out of date. IIRC there's a generic power management SSDT but I don't use it, and I can't remember where I saw it. If I find it, I'll post it here.

Update: as close as I can get > https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-power-management.177456/page-43#post-1735464. We may not need them any more except for OC'ing. I'm not using a power management SSDT on MyHero II. The Intel Power Gadget app indicates what looks to be normal data. If I come across anything more, I'll post here with your name associated with the post so you get alerted.

EDIT : ok thanks Stork, I saw your edit message on the previous post

You can use mine, but see first this post by RehabMan > https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-generate-ssdt-for-coffee-lake-cpu.238311/#post-1631190

You can also set power management via Clover which does on the fly patching:
in your config.plist >/ACPI/SSDT/Generate/PluginType=true.

The bad news is that if you use the Clover patch, then you must uncheck Enable Power Nap in System Preferences > Energy Saver after you reboot.

Thanks Stork, it works pretty well :)
I just have a blurry text issue (I'm using a standard 1080p screen with HDMI port) ; do you know how to solve that? Sounds like the text is blurry on website and menu
The screen is correctly identified (name, resolution, size of the screen) in "About this mac"...

Unfortunately, I can't help you with this problem. I recommend you post the problem in the Graphics forum section > https://www.tonymacx86.com/forums/graphics.13/

Good Luck!
