Initiall, I was using nv_disable=1 and could not get the correct resolution and dual monitors working—this is why I tried playing around with nvidia driver.
Well, I just got and plugged a Geforce 780, and all is good in Mojave
Just leaving a nore here that Quadro k420, despite its native support, has issues in setting up dual monitors and resolution.

All Nvidia graphics will have issues if you boot with nv_disable=1.
It prevents the drivers from loading.
