High Sierra native support for 10Gb ethernet

I beg to differ. Spending $355 just to get 10 Gbe is not worth it to me.

Not worth it to you is the critical part here. You're happy with your choice, and I'm happy with mine. Neither of us are wrong. You made your selection based primarily on price, and I made mine based on ease of setup. I suspect there will be other people who choose to do what you did, while others will appreciate a card like the T520-BT that just works OOB and will presumably continue to be supported by Chelsio as macOS evolves.

Id just like to add my 2 cents to this thread.

PC: Z230, i7,16gb ram, asus 10gbe and HP Thunderbolt2 pcie card

I originally was at 10.13.6 and learned I needed to be on 10.13.3 for the fw update. Started over from Sierra and worked my way up. When on 10.13.2 and .3 i could see my card but the lights wouldn't light or show any connection on osx. I rebooted mant time with out luck. I did noticed my thunderbolt drive would disconnect on some reboots. For me to get everything working, i needed to remove the thunderbolt card for the fw to take place and then reinstall.

Just wanted to share this just in case someone has the same setup.

Thanks for the hard work!

Maybe someone can help me: I have the ASUS XG-C100C card. During the upgrade from 10.13.1 to 10.13.3, I saw that the fw upgrade took place on the card. Everything was fine --- worked great. Unfortunately, I then updated to 10.13.4, and the card no longer even shows up :(

Thoughts?

unfortunately 13.4 doesn't allow for signing on unsupported cards, only 13.3 did. You can try to edit the config.plist with an kext entry. I saw it somewhere on interwebs that worked if you got the fw update in 13.3.

In this thread, post #118 (Clover Configurator) or Post # 142 (text entry into config.plist).

Oops, PastryChef, didn't see your reply.....

Hi ladies and gents,

I can confirm success with the ASUS XG-C100C even under 10.13.4 SU (17E202) and 10.13.5 Public Beta 4 (17F66a). Moreover, the Apple AQC107 10-GBit Ethernet implementation nicely suites my iMac Pro Hackintosh build .. Fur further related information and results see this link...

Big thanks to @Mieze, @mikeboss, and @mm2margaret & Co.

Cheers,

KGP
