[Guide] Install High Sierra on the HP 8300 Elite / 6300 Pro Desktop PC

Was able to get everything working in Mac OS Sierra 10.2.4 and even upgraded to 10.2.6. Tried the inlace upgrade that but didn't seem to work. I have another option in my Bootloader and when I try to boot to it it just stays at the Apple logo.

Was able to boot back into Sierra and followed the "Update Directly to macOS High Sierra" thread. Still was unable to upgrade to High Sierra and at this point was unable to boot in Sierra. So, I went ahead and erased my current SSD and start from scratch. I created the High Sierra USB using Unibeast and now I only get to the Apple logo and it gets stuck at 10% - 20%. I guess I'm stuck at Sierra.

So you confirm it is working? What was the exact text?

This is how the Graphics part of my config.plist looks:
<key>Graphics</key>
<dict>
<key>Inject</key>
<dict>
<key>ATI</key>
<false/>
<key>Intel</key>
<true/>
<key>NVidia</key>
<false/>
<key>VideoPorts</key>
<integer>4</integer>
</dict>
</dict>

And I am running Web Driver 378.05.05.25f06 (this is probably only for Sierra 12.6), so yours with High Sierra should be different.

All in all I'm very happy. Has been working stable(-ish). I am a casual Heroes of the Storm player and the first time I lost one of the monitors was when exiting (yes, not starting it) from the game, however this was before adding the VideoPorts line, since adding that it has been stable. Just out of curiosity I tried connecting my HDMI tv but it didn't recognise a 3rd screen and I didn't want to push my luck with restarts and troubleshooting. Also don't forget that my PC stays on all the time so if you're turning off yours YMMV.

Thank you for the previous advice. I took it and did not cook the firmware or the mobo, by messing with firmware updates.

I have made some progress, I got to format the internal SSD from utilities, and then install the OS, once the OS has been installed, the machine restarts.

Upon restart, I now see two icons on the screen, one for usb install w the HS icon, and the other the internal HFS formatted with the HS icon. I click on the HFS formatted HS icon, and the machine restarts,

the white apple icon in the middle of the black screen appears. The white progress bar begins and then hangs.

Any suggestions.

Thank you,

OS

It seems that many are having the same problems with High Sierra. Could you try removing the 710 after you shut down and then use the DP output and the HD4000 graphics ? You can use a low cost DP to HDMI adapter if your monitor doesn't have DP intput.

I tried the do output
Before and got a black screen, I don't think it works

Did you try DP to DP or a DP to HDMI adapter ?

DP to HDMI cable

No DP input on monitor

Tried using DVI input on card and monitor with some success, i.e., got the os to install, when it restarted I saw the apple icon on one of the internal partition options and clicked on that, still waiting for it to load. Will up date later.
