[Guide] Booting the OS X installer on LAPTOPS with Clover

Formatted HDD and 1st step Installed High Sierra on HDD and after restart when booting from the HDD it gives this error and restarts.

Open a separate thread, and attach problem reporting files.
No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.

very basic, maybe stupid question:
i cant find the .kext files at the github links you provide.
did some google and forum search where they mostly say, it´s in the release folder - but i cant even find the folder.
for example, your os-x-fakesmc-kozlek-master. i downloaded the whole .zip file and after decompressing it with keka, there is a folder named fakesmc, but no .kext file in it.


what the heck am i doing wrong?!

when you look at the github, there is a readme (lost of writing under the files) there will be a download link, normally to a bitbucket site where you can download a zip containing the compiled kexts

it is set like this so you can build from source if you want to or also fork the project

and sometimes there is extra titbits of information about said kexts on how to use, install and if they can be customised etc

I'm in a bit of a quandary, I have been prepping my HP 8470p for the upgrade to High Sierra from El Capitan. I ran the repository updater from the terminal to update all of the .kext files, then updated Clover. After updating Clover with your fork of Clover, I have now lost my wireless hardware "no hardware installed" and when plugging in a USB drive it is now telling me "device needs power". Best way to resolve this issue ?

If you still have an issue after updating per post-install instructions, open a separate thread and attach "Problem Reporting" files.

hello, according to #1, when i got github , couldn't find fakesmc.kext, should i compile all the code with Xcode to get what i need, which i think is a huge chanllenge, SOS

hi, Rehabman, I just got a new HP spectre X360 laptop with i5-8250U cpu. Now I encountered something quite strange. I can boot my High Sierra fine from my USB disk, however when I try to boot from the internal HD, it always stuck on OSXaptioFixDrv. I am using the same version of Clover on both USB and internal EFI, and I have tried many versions without luck (right now I am on your 4359 release). I also tried different version of OSXaptioFixDrv, they seem fine with USB, however when I use the internal disk to boot, they all halted there. Any idea why? Thanks!!

Read the guide carefully.
Pre-built downloads are linked by the README.
It is very clear in post #1 (and bold face...)
Don't rush to fail.
