Turn the monitor off and then on again. I got that image but didn't realized the installer already pop up.

Thanks for the the suggestion. Gave it a try and tried cycling the inputs. Same screen.

I ran the bootloader in verbose and it stall on this line: iMac.local com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.WindowServer) <Notice>: Service only ran for 0 seconds. Pushing respawn out by 10 seconds.

Any advice?

Same thing here. Gigabyte H170N-WIFI, Skylake i5-6400, nVidia 1070 (but using HD 530). So far tried
* Base config as per OP + apfs.efi driver
* modified config with relevant additions from my working 10.12.6
* Lilu + IntelGraphicsFixup + nVidiaGraphicsFixup (which helped me before with 17.1 SMBIOS)

If you, or anyone else who encountered this has a solution, that'd be great

I have the same problem in Laptop with Discrete Grapichs so if you are using the same thing I recomened to you wait for the final release or disable/remove the grapichs card until the installation finish.

Update: never mind! Somehow it just started working. I went into bios, it appeared in boot order and now I’m on to next steps.

Hey, Anappleaday & mrclassicrecord,

First thanks for your other posts super helpful.

I went with a nearly identical setup.

Followed your instructions and I can’t get it to recognize the usb drive.

Changed my bios settings per your instructions but now I’m stuck on:

‘Reboot and select proper boot device’ - can’t get it to see the usb. Tried different ports. What am I doing wrong?

I've have the same error/problem. Did you solve this somehow? Much appreciated!

Yes I solve this problem, you need to patch your APCI and disable Discrete Graphics, until now this is the only way to do that, I need to install Sierra, patch all DSDT and SSDT and put inside the installer, you can use many guides to do that ...

Regards,

very exciting. I had given up -- but now that GM is out, I just need to solve the sound assertion / blank screen installer ;(
