How to Create a macOS High Sierra Public Beta Installation USB

When trying to make the USB, the partition tab in Disk Utility is greyed out. Stuck there. Just for fun I tried to upgrade to High Sierra from Sierra, goes to restart and stays in Sierra.

Here's a tip - Format and build the usb installer drive the old way - 'Mac OS Extended (journaled)' once you've done that, start the installation by booting off the usb drive. When you reach the part where or what drive you want HS to be installed, your given the choice of what type of format in Disk Utility, Pick the first one on the list which should be APFS and continue with the install. Good luck.

I had no success, using latest Clover and FakeSMC.kext. Crashes in the first steps of booting, stops at the Apple Logo. I put a photo online.

This is on a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H board with latest FakeSMC and Clover. No chance. macOS Sierra and earlier versions worked just fine without much tinkering.

Try this:
When clover boot window appear go to Options>Acpi patching>table droping> Select dropp "MATS"

Your Board's chipset is the same as mine so I've attached my EFI folder to see if you can get up and running. I have removed all my personal settings from the config.plist so you'll need to add your own and make any other adjustments to suit your needs - That is if you want to try this method.

If you have already made a usb installation drive but getting kernel panics, then mount the EFI partition of the usb installation drive and delete the EFI folder there and replace it with the one I've attached to this post. Hopefully this way you should be abled to reach the desktop in HS.

Let me know how it goes. Good luck.

Code:
Install macOS High Sierra Beta.app does not appear to be a valid OS installer application.
Try download "macOS Install Data" two times. Install macOS High Sierra Beta is in Applications and macOS Install Data is in the macos root partition.
Any ideas?

Edited: Read some Blog comment that the pen must be named "Untitled". It works, i mean no more the error above. This is on the Public Beta. But new erro:
Code:
Failed to copy kernelcache, The file “prelinkedkernel” couldn’t be opened because there is no such file.

Hey there, I had the same problem. You have to install the macOS Public Beta Access Utility first otherwise it won't work.

sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra\ Beta.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/USB --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra\ Beta.app --nointeraction

I have a problem with this command line. It shows:
..... does not appear to be a valid OS installer application.
Is it due to the fact that my Macbook is running in german language? Do I need to change the path above?

@AlexiDime have you tried change the pen name to Untitled and in the command change USB to Untitled?

@mais_um What do you mean with pen name? The USB drive shows as "USB"

Yes Shows "USB" right click and press rename "USB" change to "Untitled" and in the command to. A least for me pass the "does not appear to be a valid OS installer application.". Now i have "prelinkedkernel" thing warning... I have the macOS Public Beta Access Utility installed.
