Hi, I recently got a good deal on the acer predator 17 and I wanted to install OSX on it once it arrived. I've attached the link to the laptop in question. getting the ball rolling early would be nice so I can get to the installing as soon as it arrives. Ideally, I would want to partition the ssd and split it between windows and osx. I have also posted on ******, but I thought I'd post here too.

I normally recommend running this on different/separate drive to get started. I was able to boot to desktop with my Acer Predator 17 but pretty much nothing worked and had to run nv_disabled=1. 1070 GTX isn't supported by Nvidia Web Drivers currently, Killer Wireless E2400 looks like it may have some support and after attempting a few runs with new kexts mine eventually just had a "do not enter" logo which makes me think USB failed. Without a Nvidia Driver that supports the graphics, I'm just taking my time finding the right kexts to get the rest of the machine working so later if things work out its ready.

Getting Clover to work is going to be challenging to. With Thunderbolt 3 and the Video card it tends to have the "Couldn't Allocate runtime area" error. This is random, and I've had the same issue with my X99 Deluxe system when using a Thunderbolt or another Video card at the same time. This sometimes fails as many as 16 times, and then finally will work. I've seen several threads, and extra drivers to try and fix it but I've never found 100% joy.

Staring points -
Disable Safe Boot in bios.
Use a USB Drive with OS X on it.
I ran multibeast and went with a vanilla install.
Disable nv_disabled=1 via clover config.plist or on boot
Slowly introduce new kexts to get hardware working. There is a Killer Wireless E2400 kext out there.
Be aware of the "Couldn't Allocate Runtime" and hit CTL+ALT+DEL to try again.

So update 1/10/17:
E2200 Kext worked for LAN and I also got Bluetooth. Airport is still not working.
I also don't have SATA/DVD drives showing up. I'm using an external ADATA SSD 256GB via USB.
I had to leave dart=0 since I had enabled Virtualization in the BIOS. Else, I got a AppleSMC Panic.
I'm using a MacPro6,1 profile for now. Please note that may lead to the Video not working without a fix to the AppleGraphicsPolicyControl.kext.

Quick note on that edit - /Contents/PlugIns/AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext/Contents/Info.plist
Down the tree of XML we go -
IOKitPersonalities
AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy
ConfigMap
F60DEB81FF30ACF6 - Change to 'none'

Have you had any success since your last update to this thread?

Apparently Nvidia announced a possible driver for the 10 series cards in April 2017 so that will possibly solve that.

I haven't spent any further time trying to track down Wifi or SATA/DVD
LAN, Bluetooth, Sound, USB, Keyboard/Trackpad work.

Geekbench (32bit) on 10.12.2

Can you please give configuration for Clover? I have same machine, but it's like a nightmare to setup Mac using those tools. Thanks a lot!
