Hello everyone,

First let me start by saying, I am totally new to pc building and have never owned a mac pc.
Looking to get away from windows completely and after reviewing the Mac Pro and Mac Mini, I have come to the conclusion that it is better to build.
I've seen plenty of hackintosh builds on youtube and have been reading through some threads here as well.

Looking for hardware suggestions.
I primarily use my pc for MS Office and occasionally Autodesk Architecture. I do occasionally do some 3d modeling in CAD as well.
I know I want to use the Streacom DB4 case and the zf240 power supply.
I also want to run 2 monitors and have wifi connectivity and bt.
I also want whatever I build to be non problematic (unlike my 2 windows based pc's) and be as close to a true Mac as possible.
Any parts suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Money isn't really a concern.

Since it's your first time, I highly recommend looking in the Golden Builds, Users Builds, and Sierra Desktop Guides sections for a well documented build that you can follow directions to.

The case that you want to use only works with ITX motherboards so be sure to look for builds that use them.

Yes, it can be... But search around on those three sub-forums for ITX builds based on Z170 chipset and you should be fine. I recommend Z170 because of the high level of compatibility. When looking at the builds, the actual CPUs used don't matter too much since i3, i5, and i7 are pretty much interchangeable.

Hello :)

Yes, I agree with @pastrychef - the Z170 in ITX format should be most reliable. I notice that rather exotic-looking case features passive cooling for the CPU so I guess I would stick with a low to mid-range CPU to keep things cool and manageable and spend spare money on extra RAM given your target uses. If you need to go for a quad-core CPU check Gigabyte's (for example) CPU compatibility chart for the motherboard you choose and check the Wattage power consumption, that way you can pick one that's lower rated (S or T suffix, I think).

Good luck! :)

Looks good.

How do you feel about a Z170 motherboard with a 7700K processor?

what are my best options for storage and graphics?

For ease and performance, AHCI M.2 SSDs. I prefer Nvidia cards, just remember that there is no macOS support for the Nvidia 1000-series cards.
