Will updating BIOS help me?

I certainly did not delete AppleHDA.kext. Any previous VoodooHDA might did that?
MacOS was downloaded from Apple store and created from a Intel DG965WH with Yosemite.

Adding AppleHDA.kext solved the problem. Thanks for your help and for this amazing Guide!
 
RehabMan is it expected to not have the Keyboard option "Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" available in keyboard preferences?

This is the screen shot from my iMac but on my HP 650 G1 the option is not even there to select.

It was removed in 10.12... (one of the many reasons this guide is still for 10.11.x)
It is available in Karbiner Elements.

That screen shot is from 10.12.3, not sure I understand where it was removed not the OS but this guide?
