Yep, wish I had known there weren't drivers for the 1000 series before I upgraded. Borrowing a friends old 290 to use now. Having some problems with keeping the 1080 in there for use on windows, the macOS keeps thinking its to be used and adds a 3rd screen (I only have 2 screens). Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see for the 1000 series web drivers.

It's the EVGA B-stock card (aka refurbished). They have a sale quite often so I check it out from time to time.
Actually they also have a 980Ti FTW for $299 now. This is as good as it can be for a supported card with a decent price.

Guys, who knows difference between 980ti and 1080 in a CUDA using apps? (render speed)
like DaVinci Resolve and Premiere and other

I think this is what you are looking for. If you go down to single GPU it compares the 1080, 1070, TITAN, and 980ti exporting 1080p and 4k and also render previews. it looks like the 980ti is marginally slower, about 13% in 1080p and only about 0.5% in 4k according to their results, but it also depends on your processor. They used 2 extreme scenarios, 10 core and single core.
the 1080 appears to be about 5-10% faster than the 980ti overall.

Thanks to you I just snatched up that 980 on a del for $299. I've been waiting since March for a dedicated graphics card. I want a 1070 or 1080 but I need to make a move and not wait longer. But at that price point, if the 1070 becomes supported I can probably sell the 980 for what I bought it for. If not - it'll be a great card (good enough for me I'm sure). Cheers and thanks for the heads up!

Man. That stinks. I just went through the whole thread hoping there would be some magic in here that would help me with my video card dilemma. I bought the 1070 Strix ROG card and I really love it, but the whole driver issue is a real pain. I'm holding off on the whole Hackintosh push until I find a solution. I may sell it and and buy a 980Ti. Undecided....
