I can not get my rx480 accelerate,why?
I am new to hackintosh,my hardware are i7 4790k,rx480,z97x-ud3h,i used unibeast and multibeast and have installed the
sierra,
changed bios igpu as primary,
clover add fakeid 0x67DF1002,
ati inject enable,
BFNmae Dayman
anything else must do to accelerate? now card name is r9XXX, memory size is right

problem solved, edit the 4100kext and rebuild the cache, get it

Gigamaxx: I think I may have found my problem. It appears the RX480 does not work in an X8 slot. When I use it in an X16 it works. Are you using an MB with two X16 slots?

I have two Sapphire Nitro+ RX 480 8GB. One is in a X16 and the other 8X. My 8X does not work. I have to pull the power on X8 before booting into Hackintosh. Maybe this would explain my issue.

I had that problem with my XFX RX 480 8gb and was due to I connect in the PCIE X8 Slot, I move to the X16 and now work fine

Hi everybody!
So I have config:
GA-X79-UD3
i7 3930K
RX480
2 Monitors
(mac pro 6,1)

So, as you may guessed it is not bootable setup.
So I had insert GTX760 in SLOT 1 (x16), and RX480 in SLOT 3 (x16)
Connect DP to GTX760 and HDMI to RX480, made fresh setup of Sierra macOS.

So, 1 display was handled by nvidia, and second one by RX480.
And it's almost perform well. (I have CS:GO Issue, GPU Clock Speed are dropping to 135mhz for a while, just for fun I guess..)
I have noticed what rx480 have black screen until login screen would come up. So, I take my gtx760 away from slot 1, and I have no touch my RX480, so rx card connected at HDMI and in SLOT 3 of motherboard, reboot my system with RX480 monitor is off, wait 2 minutes, turn on display, and it had booted without iGPU or gtx card. So this method are working for me, if you have same setup, please check it out. (when I connect second display to rx card it not boot, and I need connect gtx760 again)

And can we control rx480 boost steps ? To not give this card drop gpu clock speed/fps randomly low in games ?

Thanks for reporting this actually works. I think the crucial step (which you didn't mention) is disabling CSM, which (at least on my system) causes initialization of the Radeon GPU, even if no display is connected. It might also not work on other UEFI implementations, this might be vendor specific.

I'm very sure by now that all AMD Radeon related issues at the moment (sleep/wake and boot to black screen) are caused solely by the UEFI video subsystem and nothing else. Using a iGPU or a 2nd dGPU are easy workarounds but not the real deal. No one found the real cause of trouble yet, but we're getting closer.

Can't reproduce this on my X99 system - with or without CSM enabled, and with the monitor turned off but connected by HDMI, or unplugged from the GPU altogether or plugged into the GPU but not into the mains, still getting a black screen. There was nothing else you did at all? Did you edit the kext, oder did you use one of the other methods?

Hi all,

I had previously been using a GTX 660 in my Hackintosh running a 4k monitor @ 60hz over DisplayPort. I then purchased a GTX 1070 which I have not been able to get working due to lack of drivers. I am thinking of swapping the 1070 for an RX 480 as I would like to use the Hackintosh again rather than Windows, can anyone confirm if they have managed to get this card working stable now? would I be able to use this card over DisplayPort for 4k @ 60hz? and without having to use the igpu.

Thanks
