I have recently updated to Mac OS Sierra, but audio is not working. Any idea?

Hi MacUK,

I'm not sure as I haven't updated yet. But sometimes you'd need to reinstall the kexts that worked for you prior the update. Did you try reinstalling the Realtek ALC892 kext through MultiBeast?

Did you update directly through AppStore or via the steps provided here on tonymacx86?
I'd like to say that if I remember correctly, when I tried updating El Capitan from 10.11.1 to 10.11.5 through the AppStore I ended up with a non-booting machine and had to reinstall everything from scratch; after all we're running a non-native Mac but somewhat compatible hardware, and the OS is still depends on UniBeast which the updates aren't aware about. So during an online update there's a big chance that something will go wrong. From that experience I learned to turn off the automatic updates, and usually wait for an offline combo update posted here on tonymacx86 and install from it. Last time after doing so I didn't even had to reinstall any kexts. But if something doesn't work for you after updating then try reinstalling the previous kexts that worked for you from MultiBeast.

I'll follow the steps in the tonymacx86's guide to updating my UniBeast thumb drive to the latest OS and try to update from it. I'll post here the results afterwards.

Hi everyone,

I just successfully finished upgrading my El Capitan to the latest macOS Sierra!
All my settings and apps remained untouched after the upgrade. The only thing I had to fix is the audio driver.

All details are described at the end of my main post at the first page of this thread.

Cheers

I did the same and still not working. I also mount EFI went throuh Clover /extension / and put the key and not audio detected. Also, Siri is not working, does not listen. Any idea?

Are you using the same motherboard as I do?

I remember having some problems with the Realtek ALC892 audio kext from a newer MultiBeast version back in El Capitan. Try this:

1. Delete all the available audio kexts in the 'Extensions' folder. A restart to the system now is recommended.

2. Download MultiBeast 8.0.1 and install the Realtek ALC892 kext from it - As I already mentioned in my post, even though the newer MultiBeast appears to have the same ALC892 driver in it, only the one from MultiBeast 8.0.1 worked for me in El Capitan, so it could be your case.

3. Restart the system and check if you have audio. In case you still don't have audio try now to install the ALC892 kext from 'MultiBeast - Sierra 9.0.0' and check if you have audio after another restart.

I got everything working now. Did you get the driver for wi-fi?

On my end everything works the same as it was with El Capitan, including WiFi. The only thing I had to re-install is the audio kext. But please note that I've replaced the WiFi card when I built the system to the one mentioned in my post. If you're using something else then it might require a different driver.

I meant the board card. Do you know how to get it worked? Another issue is that safari freezes the system when FB message or Youtube. Do you know about this issue?

I never tried using the original Intel WiFi card that came with the motherboard as I knew from the beginning that it's not supported under MacOS. As I wrote in my post, I purchased in advanced a Hackintosh compatible WiFi card for replacing the Intel® one that comes with the board: Broadcom BCM94322HM8L:Amazon | eBay

Regarding the other issues, I never encountered anything like that as I'm not using Safari to surf the internet. Instead, I'm using Google Chrome which works great, the same it does on my main PC. Facebook and YouTube are working fine there as well.

Intel WIFI isn't supported. Replace with a supported WIFI card. Im using a BCM943602CS.
