[Guide] Lenovo Y50/Y70 (UHD or 1080p) using Clover UEFI

Status
Not open for further replies.
Ignore that guide.

Procedure:
- make sure your Clover is up-to-date
- make sure EFI/Clover/kexts is set correctly (as per guide)
- update everything from the current repo (git pull, repatch ACPI, ./download.sh, install_downloads.sh, etc.)
- make sure 10.10 is still working
- download 10.11 from App Store
- run it
- choose to install to your existing 10.10 partition
- reboot, and boot into the installer "Install OS X El Capitan from <original yosemite partition>" (boot without graphics injection)
- allow it to install
- when you reach the 10.11 desktop, run ./install_downloads.sh again
- patch IOKit (as described in post #1)
- boot with graphics injection

All of course, now I will do it
Just where do I install the Clover (update)?
To install Update Clover to EFI partition or a local disk partition (Yosemite)?

Hi RehabMan,

So I decided to try the steps in your above post to upgrade myself to 10.11 (sans the UHD specific ones). I'm trying to repatch my DSDT but the compiler is throwing some errors and I'm not entirely sure why. (Perhaps it's because it's trying to use my already patched DSDT as a base...?) I think I've done everything correctly up to that point.

To patch DSDT (assuming you're re-extracting) you need to boot with USB. It is in the guide in post #1.

To your HDD as that's where you'll be booting from.

Installing Clover is something you did before and is covered in the guide.

It would also be a good idea to update your USB for recovery purposes.

^ Either or is fine tbh. I do EFI since my windows dual boot already has an EFI partition.
If you are doing Mac OS X only on the drive, you can do Yosemite partition if you don't wanna make another partition.

Thank you very much

Clover will always install to the EFI partition when you select "Install for UEFI".

It should work.

Make sure you check EFI/Clover/kexts

Note: I tend not to install EmuVariable anymore as you get crash reports with native NVRAM but not with EmuVariable. You can delete it later.

Clover does not give install himself in EFI PARTITON
