I did the update from 10.10.5 on my setup.
After trying to boot from my USB I got fed up and booted up my disk on a real mac, then did the update.

Everything was fine back in my hack, besides a couple things :
- I had to install the latest AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext for my TP-Link TG-3468. (the hardware model wasn't recognized anymore).
- I installed the beta nvidia drivers too, and they work fine (they seem to be slower at the cinebench opengl (80ish instead of 90ish).

I of course copied my kext from 10.10 to 10.11, added the RTVariables etc.

system works fine. I already miss the previous disk utility. I hate when they nerf their tools.

I attempted to do the update from 10.10.5 on my system, however, I have my SMBIOS set to Mac Pro 5,1 (better geek bench scores over 3,1 for me) and the AppleTyMCEDriver.kext is causing a KP with the kext patch that works in 10.10, so I'll probably hold tight for now.

I'm trying to install el Cap GM, a fresh install, on a freshly erased partition.

I loaded the installer on a partition on a spare internal SSD, it seems to be ok.

I created both a fresh clover installation and used a known working one.

on both tries i select the installer in clover, when it boots halfway it gets a blackscreen, and the system reboots.

now i dont know what to do and get really frustrated..

im using a GA-Z87MX-D3H with an nvidea 770 all runs tight on yosemite

Do you use Nvidia web drivers in Yosemite, if so add nv_disable=1 to your boot flags.

For El Capitan new Nvidia web drivers are required.

So I decided to take the plunge and change it to Mac Pro 3,1.

Install then went fine, but no audio and my wifi card has defaulted back to the XT country code, so I'm not sure if any of my kexts are patching, even though I did rootless=0 and the new RT variables in the other thread.

rootless=0 no longer applies

I tried with Aptio2 and I get white screen.

I just tried with Aptio and it returns Error - requested memory exceeds our allocated relocation block

Try to boot with slide=10 in the Boot Arguments, it works with me with Z77X-UD5H

Just as a follow up to myself - after installing the audio from toleda as well as rebuilding the cache, the wifi resolved itself. Now just to get bluetooth working.
