[PARTIAL SUCCESS] GA-Z77-D3H Sound on MT 10.8 Project (VIA 2021 + HDMI)

EDIT: This is a fully working system now. Refer to this thread. Only discuss further development of the sound in here

NOTE: This will only work under 10.8.2. Other version do not work with these kexts.

This is a project to enable full audio functionality on the GA-Z77-D3H using a patched APPLEHDA. Note that this may also work on other motherboards using the VIA2021 chip, however those works will require a different DSDT.aml file.

Currently working:
1. Rear Green Port - Stereo Audio Output
2. Rear Pink Port - Stereo Microphone In
3. Rear Blue Port - Stereo Audio in
4. Rear SPDIF - Digital Line Out
5. HDMI audio with HD4000, 3000 and many dedicated GPUs!

Project aim:
to get full functionality

Guide:
1. Delete all current audio kext from system/library/extensions/. Look for APPLEHDA.kext, VoodooHDA.kext and VIA2021.kext and delete them
2. After deleting run kext utility to repair permissions and restart the computer
3. The computer should boot fine. Place the APPLEHDA.kext downloaded from this threat on your desktop and install using kext utility (drag into window)
4. Restart
5. Make sure you are on BIOS version F14. This does not work for F18
6. Delete any existing DSDT.aml from the /extra/ folder and replace with DSDT.aml from this threat.
7. Check your org.chameleon.Boot.plist for any conflicting audio flags and remove. Check the below as a reference:
8. Reboot, you are done.

The way forward:
In order to get full functionality the DSDT file most likely have to be changed further. Possibly also need to work on the layout. Please head to the following thread for work on the DSDT.aml for the GA-Z77-D3H:

Perfect Sound running on the GA-Z77X-D3H with the DSDT and the Kext

Big Thanks

What will I need to change in order to get this working on a ga-z77m-d3h?

Confirmed working perfectly on the F14 BIOS. Great work!

My system is now complete, it's perfectly stable, sleep & wake works, audio works, graphics performance is good. Very pleased!

Good to know it also works on F14 out of the box.

I am now trying to get the HDMI audio to work simultaneously. You can follow it here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hdmi-audio/62880-mountain-lion-hdmi-audio-hd4000-6.html#post423179

Alternatively, if you have better knowledge of DSDT editing you can try and help me by injecting the HDMI part into the DSDT and testing it. So far I have not succeeded as the IGPU does not show up in IOReg.

The VoodooHDA VTA2021 kext from MultiBeast 5.0.2 enables 2 digital outputs, 4 analog outputs and 2 analog inputs in SysPrefs when used with this DSDT. Very good. I haven't done much testing beyond confirming that front-audio output works and it seems stable so far.

I won't be much help testing the HDMI audio output as I don't have an HDMI audio device attached to this system, but more than happy to test the IGPU mods.

The only other obvious remaining issue with this board is the USB 3.0 support as current kexts aren't totally compatible with the LGA1155 boards apparently. They work fine for me as regular USB 2.0 ports though so it's not a big deal.

Please tell me how you managed to get the VIA2021 kext from multibeast to work? Whenever I try to install it my system simply crashes. Would appreciate if you could tell me your steps and bios setting and/or anything else you did you get the Voodookext to work!

Regarding the USBs, I have only been able to run 6 under USB 2 mode. The other 2 don't work for me. Apparently a lot of the USB 3 issues will be fixed under 10.8.1. I will wait for the update before I do any more work on the USB ports.

Oh no,still not working . my Bios is F8 so i must flash my bios? and one more thing, your dsdt not work for me i think, because using your dsdt i cannot get my ps2 keyboard work. i also try install voodooHDA VTA2021 from multibeast 5.0.2 and after restart i get kernel panic. so hope someone can help.
sorry for my bad english.

Flash your bios. I doubt a ps2 keyboard will work though. Get a USB one
