Buckeyes,

Question - I can't get my computer screen to wake up it stays dark.

I saw your post on another persons thread. I have the same problem. My screen stays dark after I wake the computer up. I have tired just about everything to get it working. You stated you had the same problem and all it was, was a dsdt fix. What was your solution? Please let me know?

Thanks,
MacModifier

Indeed, great work by Giacomoleopardo. Hadn't kept up on DSDT editing the past few months.

The USB Multiplexing & USB Power patches are part of the repositories.. so should just be able to patch both of those.

I have an ASUS P8Z77-M Pro and i5-2500K. I use the mid board USB3 header to connect 2 USB3 ports on the front of my Mac Pro case. I am wondering if this PJALM USB fix thing will work for me. Currently, the USB3 ports only mount USB3 devices and at USB3 speeds. After waking from sleep (no auto sleep, just pushing the power button or selecting sleep from the Apple menu) the front USB3 ports will mount USB2 and USB3 devices but both at USB2 speeds.

I currently do not use a DSDT and have only installed hnak's internet, FAKESMC, sensors and HQ monitor, and SSDT for overclock. SO I am pretty vanilla I think. Do you think adding the Apple Power Management fix thing would get my autosleep working? ANyway, most interested in getting all devices rocking on USB3 ports. I have never done any DSDT editing so am I bit scared. Thanks for your help.
Hi spence4,
99% if you edit correctly a dsdt.aml like stated in my guide you'll make your usb 3.0 fully functional (backward too). You'll have to choose a System Definition like Macmini5,1 or Macpro3,1 (Sandy Bridge) or any Ivy Bridge SysDef will be fine. Another thing: please note that this will fix only Intel® Z77 chipset USB 3.0. In order to make ASMedia® USB 3.0 controller working you'll have to install CalDigitUSBxHCI.kext and CalDigitFastIO.kext that buckeyes linked in his first post or download USB30_kext_02.zip from here. That said, having a cleaned and compiled dsdt (better with HDMI Audio edit) would be helpful. Post a virgin dsdt, and your components: I'll give it a shot for you if you want. For autosleep it sure will be helpful to have a good Power Management (in your case I guess your choice will be for Sandy Bridge Power Managemend and System Definition, 'cause you use i5-2500K), but check with pmset -g assertions in terminal, if you find some values that are not zero, then something is going to stop autosleep feature.

Indeed, great work by Giacomoleopardo.
Thanks man, but please note that I take no credits about this: Mieze is the mind!

OP updated for BIOS 1.80. Also includes step by step DSDT editing instructions. Thanks to giacomoleopardo for turning on to the new MacIASL DSDT editor.

The Native chameleon 1.11 EFI injection does not work for this board's HD4000 for whatever reason, so if you want to use HD4000 instead of a dedicated GPU, do the following:

1. add the following to your org.chameleon.Boot.plist:

<key>device-properties</key>
<string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000005006201140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31

Hi Buckeyes, I don't need to add any efi string at all... It seems a bit strange! HD4000 works properly.

- PJALM General -> ESB2 SATA
This corrects the "orange icon" issues that shows internal drives as external
I don't need that either: how did you set Advanced\Strorage Configuration\Sata 3_X\Hot Swap in bios? I set disable and drives are showing as they should.

I' ve got an ot question for you , but pm sounds better!

@ spence4: Buckeyes is right, PM where you want to discuss your issues, I'll be glad to help you out (if I can;))

Hi macmodifier,

you have to edit your dsdt. Remove the line :

\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.SIOW (Arg0)

from WAK Method.

I went into DSDT Editor with my DSDT file and selected all the text in the Method_WAK and selected all and did a find on the string and it come back with nothing.

\_SB.PCI0.LPCB I found that just on the SIOW (Arg0)

Any ideas?

Make sure you're looking at the WAK entry near the end of the file. If you rolled a virgin DSDT it will be there. I've had to remove it on all BIOSs (1.3, 1.6, and 1.8).

Good luck!
