I noticed that after startup the system security is always unlocked. I can click lock and that works, but then after restart, the security lock is again off. Is this a bug, trojan? Is there a fix? Anyone else notice this?

The audio is coming from the mini jack on the board and not thru Displayport. My only issue is the volume is limited. Not sure why but I'm getting this anyway as I don't like the sound from the speakers from the Asus monitor. This package should give it more punch...

Can you put the drive back in the iMac? If so use file sharing or copy the files to your usb stick and then to the new rig. After that you can figure out how to get use of the HD in the new rig without risking losing your data.
