Hi guys, I recently bought new hardware for another build, my specs are as following:
processor INTEL i7 4770
motherboard GIGABYTE Z87M-D3H
graphics card EVGA NVIDIA GTX 650
ram memory GSKILL RIPJAWS 2x8GB DDR3 1600MHZ
solid state drive SAMSUNG EVO 840 250GB
hard drive WD BLUE 2x1TB
pcie wifi TP LINK TL-WDN4800
I've updated the BIOS version and installed Mountain Lion 10.8.5, since I have the Pro Tools license for that particular OS. The installation went fine, everything works (including audio, sleep, etc.) but now my computer freezes really often, having to hard reset to make it work again. My BIOS settings are, apart from the Optimized Defaults:
X.M.P = profile1
XHCI MODE = auto
XHCI HAND-OFF = enabled
EHCI HAND-OFF = enabled
VT-D = disabled
INTERNAL GRAPHICS = disabled
PCIe SLOT = gen3
In Multibeast I've installed everything that comes with DSDT-free, plus audio drivers, Lnx2Mac's ethernet, USB 3.0, TRIM patch, some boot options and the 3.1 system definition. Then I've installed latest NVIDIA web drivers and Adobe Flash player plugin.
I've read that sometimes changing sys def to 14,2 helps for Haswell support, but I don't know if I should do so, being that Mountain Lion is a much older OS.
This is what my boot.plist looks like:
I've also read that freezes were common with Z87 chipset. Is there a way to solve this issue?
Thanks in advance!
PS: merry christmas
