Z490 & Z590 - Will Z590 ever have macOS Support ?

Intel announced alder lake today. They go on sale on Nov 4. Z590 vision D’s successor is now live: z690 Aero D.

  • DDR5,
  • Thunderbolt™4,
  • Intel®WIFI6E 802.11ax,
  • AQUANTIA® 10GbE LAN
  • Intel® 2.5GbE LAN,
  • Dual PCIe 5.0 x16 slots,
  • 4 x NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Connectors,
  • USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C
  • Displayport input.
  • More internal USB headers.
It remains to be seen whether and/or how well Alder Lake and z690 work with macOS. Also remains to be seen whether z690 Aero D has working thunderbolt hot plug, or whether there are BIOS quirks like its predecessor.

Anyone get an Alder Lake CPU/Mobo/DDR5? I managed to snag a 12900k from Newegg but will hold off on a motherboard/ram until reviews.

Currently messing around with Linux on my x299 so won’t be able to look at the tb4 stuff for a while

I ordered. The processor will come 04.11.2021. But the motherboard is not known when. The only cooling that was available to Socket 1700 is Noctua. DDR5 I have not seen anywhere in Sales. That's why I ordered Gigabyte Z690 Gaming X DDR4.It has a standard THB 5 PIN:

It's probably time to initiate a Z690 thread for the brave souls who will jump into it.

Why i do not see my ROM-Version of my Graphic?

@InsomnIaHackintosh,

I've added ThunderboltDROM to the attached rev3 SSDT. Please try the following:
  • Download and copy file to EFI/OC/ACPI folder
  • Disable the rev2 SSDT from OpenCore Configurator --> ACPI section
  • Create an entry for the rev3 SSDT
  • Reboot
  • See if your Thunderbolt devices connect and work
  • Also post IOReg file
Sounds like this is unique to 500 chipset and Asus add in card. Is there any work on GC-Maple Ridge? I have one in my possession and I'd like to add it to my z390 MB if possible. Would like to have working thunderbolt bus!:)
