if you're already in the 5th Slot and using a DSDT try the first Slot
What is this sentence mean? Some DSDT edits are needed?
( Sorry, I'm not good at English. )

Oh and be sure to activate IO Acceleration Technology in BIOS! ;)
I didn't notice this configuration. It was disabled. Thanks!
Sadly, situation did not changed when it enabled.

I found "Enable C6" was enabled in clover configuration, so I disabled it.
( I had to specify "false" to disable it. )
So IOAPIC stuck is solved, now stuck at "PCI Configuration Begin" and "mbinit".

My Z9PA-D8's PCIe x16 are slot 2 and slot 4. But both has same behavior.

I think this problem is caused by PCIe connection configuration of motherboard.

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/Socket2011/Z9PA-D8/Manual&QVL/E7572_Z9PA-D8_for_web.pdf

Comparing these block diagrams, Z9PE-D8 slot 1,2,3,4 are connected to CPU1 via ASM1480, and slot 5,6,7 are connected to CPU2 directly.
But in Z9PA-D8, all slots except slot 5 are connected to CPU1 via ASM1480.
And slot 5 is PCIe x8 and connected to PCH, so I think it's unusable for GPU.

I don't know what is the problem, but if CPU1 or ASM1480 causes problem, it means there is no solution for Z9PA-D8...

Hm maybe try to disable the Onboard VGA via Jumper :problem:

Ok so you tried both Slots?

also do you use this PIKE RAID Card? Maybe try to remove this one

However you'll need definitely npci=0x2000 (or 3000) and maybe PCIRootUID=1 (or 0)

Changing onboard VGA jumper
npci=0x2000/0x3000/not using
PCIRootUID=0/1

These did not worked for Z9PA-D8, and I don't have PIKE card.

I tried slot 2 and slot 4.
And I modified (cut) my old 7600GT to fit x8 slot and tried slot 1,3,5, not worked.
7600GT in slot 1,3 is not recognized. In slot 5, it is recognized as x4, but didn't worked.

My ideas are almost exhausted...

Hmm maybe try this from SalPro Thread (maybe also with MacPro6,1):

My display still didn't switch on, so after some investigating i found the fix in the official 10.10.3 update thread: Edit AppleGraphicsControl.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext/Contents/Info.plist and change the Value for your SMBios ID from "Config 2" to "none".

Oh I didn't know about AppleGraphicsControl.kext. Thanks.

But nothing happend when I changed MacPro6,1 config to "none".
I tried it at 10.10.2, so next time I will update 10.10.3 and try this.

Finally did a fresh installation of 10.10.1.

can't find match kernel...without usb.

HELP!!!

HELP!!!

Have you successfully installed Yosemite or Maverick, if so how did you do it?

I have the z9pe-d8 with E5-2620 v2 and 32GB RAM.

what method are you using to install OSX?

I can't seem to get Yosemite or Maverick installer to boot.

thanks in advance for your help.

I have searched for years to find out how to upgrade form 10.8.5 to 10.9 or 10.10 and no help from anywhere. It's a mystery about this board, that too many people have succesfull installations, but for some reasons you can't find a guide. It's like a secret.....

After so many years, I found the answer on this post from nikezzz...thnx nikezzz.

The secret is:

1. You must have "Enabled" IO Acceleration Technology in BIOS!! Not "Disabled" as by default!
2. GPU Card on 5th or 3rd Slot.
3. All others are just boot flags and kexts...

If you do two first steps as I told you, then you're in!

At least worked for me.

Thanks for for the bios setting.

May I ask what are the steps you used to achieve a successful fresh install of OSX 10.10.1
eg.
1. how did you create the install usb, Uni-beast or any special thing done to install USB?
2. do I have to patch the bios?
3. what boot flags did you boot install USB with?
4. after install what kexts/boot loader was used?

I would greatly appreciate this.
Thanks in advance.
