WoW isn't performing at 100%, low FPS in populated areas/freezes. GTX 580

On WoW, when you are in a high populated area, my FPS drops down very low and on the activity monitor, the CPU usage goes down as well. In the graphic options in WoW, it's saying my recommended settings should almost be on Low which can't be the case with the hardware that I'm running. Everything works fine on Windows 7 & 8, as well as on my Macbook Pro. No issues at all. So I know it's just my hackintosh. When I am in low populated areas or where things are relatively quiet, I am getting excellent FPS with no issues. It seems to me that something in my build is restricting my graphics card. I'm running a GA-Z77X-UD5H mobo, i7 3770K, 16GB RAM, GTX 580.

High Liquid Details and Sunshaft and Antistrophic @ 16x is a killer under Os X so give it a try if that settings working for You ;-)

Isn't this a bug with the Mac version of WOW currently? I thought I remembered reading about that.

Yea I have the same problem here it seems I cannot unleash the full potential of my GeForce GTX 760 under OS X at everything at ultra. It lags so bad and drop from (in crowded area) form 35 to like 12-15 fps

but when I boot in Windows 7 (Boot Camp - I own an original MacPro 3,1 - not an Hackintosh) I have the exact same settings and regardless of the crowded area or not I get an average of around 80-90 FPS wherever in the world.
