[WIP] [GUIDE] Lenovo IdeaPad Z500 & Mavericks

After looking at ioreg, I think it will be the same issue...

Seems that way I think

25/06/2014 22:44:14.798 com.apple.kextcache[1185]: kext com.rehabman.driver.ACPIDebug 1009000 is in exception list, allowing to load
25/06/2014 22:45:33.000 kernel[0]: ACPIDebug: Version 0.1.0 starting
25/06/2014 22:45:33.000 kernel[0]: ACPIDebug: "LID0._LID enter"
25/06/2014 22:45:33.000 kernel[0]: ACPIDebug: { "LID0._LID returning", 0x1, }

25/06/2014 22:45:55.000 kernel[0]: ACPIDebug: { "LID0._LID returning", 0x1, }

No discernible change upon lid close/open in console.

Should I employ the same workaround? Did it.

*Edited to say - that enables sleep upon closure of lid but wake upon opening still doesn't work. I can live with that however.

Is there any side-effects to removing _PRW?

Removing _PRW disables wake by lid open. You should be able to wake with the power button.

Please i have a lenovo z500 i have some problems Did you have a video using the kexts and all and i can see all the process PLEASE

My (current) method is (UEFI type):
NOTE: Some kexts may be wrong or redundant. Anyone knowing better, I would appreciate a pointer :)

EDIT: Due to forum rules, I speak of 'released' OS X versions only. [Greater than 9/Mavericks] sections are 'reserved for future use' (or words to that effect).

EDIT 2: After this post, with thanks to RehabMan, is the fix for sleep. (I used a modified GenericUSBXHCI.kext, as listed in this post, as this was the only successful version for me on 'my version' of OS X)

GPT Partition type.
1x Partition for OS X (Mac OS Extended (Journaled))
1x Partition for EFI (FAT32)
(Plus any other partitions you wish)

If you format the disk in a non-Mac environment, you can format the OS X partition as anything or leave as empty - then re-format correctly in the installer.

On the EFI partition, copy Clover EFI folder in place.
Mine is:

Root -> EFI (first folder on the partition)
In EFI are APPLE, BOOT and CLOVER folders
All these folders require the usual fillings.

drivers64UEFI folder contains:
FSInject-64.efi
HFSPlus-64.efi
OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi
OsxFatBinaryDrv-64.efi
VBoxHfs-64.efi

My config.plist is from this thread, with kext-dev-mode=1 set as a boot argument.
SMBIOS is TRUST = NO
(Setting as YES will misread the RAM)

My DSDT and SSDT is from this thread, stored in ACPI ->patched.
I have an i5, these are i7 DSDT's, but work otherwise fine. (may be related to issues, listed below)

Next, depending on OS X version chosen:
kexts folder -> 10.9 (Missing HDA kexts, use ones)
ACPIBacklight.kext
ACPIBatteryManager.kext
AHCIPortInjector.kext
ApplePS2ElanTouchpad.kext
Disabler.kext
FakeSMC.kext
GenericUSBXHCI.kext
IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext

kexts folder -> 10.[greater than 9]
ACPIBacklight.kext
ACPIBatteryManager.kext
AHCIPortInjector.kext
AppleHDA.kext
AppleHDADisabler.kext
ApplePS2ElanTouchpad.kext
Disabler.kext
FakeSMC.kext
GenericUSBXHCI.kext
IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext
VoodooHDA.kext

Boot and either set UEFI to boot the HD or tap F12 (with Fn key usually) to select,
choose your install media.

Install is pretty much native from here.
10.9 may need VoodooHDA utility, but 10.[greater than 9] works as native with same kexts.

The Sound kexts are posted by nailandroid earlier (http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks...ovo-ideapad-z500-mavericks-10.html#post800971)

USB 3.0 Support for [greater than Mavericks] uses Viktor Vos' GenericUSBXHCI.kext Post 564 (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/to...usb-30-driver-for-os-x-with-source/?p=2042974)

Works
Camera
Speakers
Headphone jack w/headphones only
Mic at top of screen
Touchpad w/multitouch

Not working:
SD card.
Sleep (will sleep for ~1 second and wake)
iMessage/Facetime (probably need to do the 'phone call') (It worked fine until I tried [Greater than Mavericks], then flagged my account :lolno:)

Untested:
VGA
HDMI
Headphone jack w/headset and mic

I may have missed stuff, so I will add more later - or just quiz me to remind me.

Does your laptop have only nvidia or nvidia+intel?

If both, start at post #1.
