The Ballistix listed on the build guide is cheaper and seems to be what I need instead.

You can check the specific model # against the QVL from Gigabyte and see if they gave it their OK. Find the PDF attached down below my profile underneath this post. The letters and numbers don't all match exactly but you'll see that the Ballistix 16GB DIMMS will be good.

Intel is the best choice for a LAN chip. Get that if you can. Their is also Realtek and Killer that are commonly used. Where do you see EV2500 ? Do you have a link.

You said EV2500 when it's E2500 that is the Killer LAN that I mentioned. You can use either one, there is a kext for both.

Yeah sorry about that typo. I found a Gaming 8 that has intel so I'll grab one or the other. Looking at cases now.
