Problem may not be RAM - it might be the RAM slots and be a board RMA problem.

ok,
so what do you suppose I do next?
Is there a way to test the RMA?
I removed one stick again, i'm on a single 4gb stick.
That always worked. I'll see if it will now. (Last known working configuration so to say)
So I think it has to do with ram or Board controller.

Or should I reset the bios to defaults and change the settings I need to change?
Would maxmem4096 help to solve this?

RMA is board Return Merchandise Authorization which is needed to have a pre-approval to return the board for a refund.

It could be a problem with the RAM slots on the board, not the RAM itself.

Have you run Memtest86 on the RAM? http://www.memtest86.com

yes, I ran memtest and both modules showed up ok.
Right now I have both installed in the other 2 Slots (even though the first ones were recommended to populate first) to rule out a fault in one of the first slots.
