Finally shelled out for the unlocked version of Geekbench and have run the 64-bit test.
Running the 2500K at 3.9GHz. The Zalman cooler I'm using was chosen for noise level and for the fact that it clears my Corsair Vengeance (non-LP) memory rather than for overclocking, and in fact it's not really an overclocker's cooler so I don't want to run it much higher than 3.9GHz.
4.5Ghz Overclock. Never goes over 62 C on full load. Hyper 212 with two fans.Screen Shot 2011-12-05 at 10.48.59 AM.png
Also 16 GB of Corsair Vengeance, however wouldn't run at stock 1600 so I had to over clock. Radeon 6850.
GeekBench score (32 bit) 12264
OC'd 2500K running at 5.0 Ghz, temp 40C at idle 45C under load.
It took me a while and many reboots....but I got it. Had it at 5.2Ghz but it was only fractions more on the GeekBench.
5.0 is stable for me.
Update: Just broke down and bought the license for GeekBench. (64 Bit ) Score 13607.
Update: Messed with some more settings and just hit 13980 ...woooohoooo!
What guides did you use? I'm having such a hard time finding stability. It seems like things wil be working fine and then wham, crash. Is there something I'm missing? Also having a lot of difficulty with my RAM. I have Corsair Vengeance lp 16GB and I just can't seem to get voltages correct.
