Weird problem with Handoff, Instant Hotspot and AutoUnlock

Problems:
- MacBookPro14,3 is a poor choice. Use MacBookPro14,1 or MacBoookPro11,1.
- as you have removed the I2C kexts, you also must remove AppleHPM.kext
- CPU PM not implemented. see guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-native-power-management-for-laptops.175801/
- NVMe is native in 10.13, remove HackrNVMeFamily*.kext and SSDT_NVMe-Pcc.aml
- USB configuration is wrong. see guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-creating-a-custom-ssdt-for-usbinjectall-kext.211311/

Will do, to test. But I suppose it will not solve the problem with handoff being unreliable, because it should work too with 14.3, same as AutoUnlock.

It is implemented. SSDT.aml is there, created using that same guide with ssdtPRGen.sh. Intel App reports correct values (they change, going up and down according to the system load), and IORegistryExplorer reports X86PlatformPlugin loading under the CPU0 node. Have you found something in specific not working as it should for this?

Will do. Although I read somewhere that is not native for ALL SSDs, that is why I left those files. I hope mine is native then.

All USB ports work, same as webcam and bluetooth chip in this case. I haven't modified anything to make it work, haven't included patches nor additional kexts, so I haven't used any guide because there was no need for it. What is wrong exactly, that I need to apply a patch for?

ACPI were extracted and patched several times after some changes to the system. This time I did not pressed F4 because I haven't changed anything. No change in BIOS, no change in hardware since last extraction. Existing extracted files are the same files that were patched.

Running with old kexts always sketchy.
You should run with native IONVMeFamily if possible.

No way for me to know whether changes were made.
When providing problem reporting files, you must press F4 to extract new ones, exactly as written.

You were absolutely right! I had that ssdt and all working prior to installing High Sierra. I forgot that I made a fully new install because I used the SSD this time and not the HDD, and that ssdt was not included in my backup. Thanks! Now it is working as expected and X86PlatformPlugin is there.

Fixed. And I have found Google Chrome there, hooked in my USB, so I have disabled WebUSB as it says in the faq.

After all these fixes, the problem remains. So, I am giving up here. Can't be something else now. Something does not work between the dw1560, the system and the bcrm kexts. I mean, those kexts work because otherwise I would not have bluetooth at all, but something is missing somewhere to enable auto unlock and to make handoff to work right. I have two laptops, same model, same OS installed (one upgraded from Sierra to High Sierra, and one with a new and clean High Sierra install), and both using same model of dw1560 from same vendor. The two antennas are connected on both boards. And both laptops are presenting this same problem with handoff working bad, and auto unlock not being available at all. Also, they are logged with different Apple IDs, and both IDs have an iWatch and an iPhone too.

I have noticed that if I open a webpage from handoff (from my iPhone on the Mac), Safari says "Opening a webpage from handoff", the loading bar loads up to a 15% maybe, and then stops, and it is a blank tab, like when you open a new tab, with no web address entered. So, it somewhat works, but stops at some moment. Same with instant hotspot, being recognized but unable to establish a connection.

Good thing is: these fixes also fixed bluetooth not disabling until a full restart. Now I can disable and re-enable bluetooth with no problems.

The two antennas are connected on both boards. And both laptops are presenting this same problem with handoff working bad, and auto unlock not being available at all. Also, they are logged with different Apple IDs, and both IDs have an iWatch and an iPhone too.

I have noticed that if I open a webpage from handoff (from my iPhone on the Mac), Safari says "Opening a webpage from handoff", the loading bar loads up to a 15% maybe, and then stops, and it is a blank tab, like when you open a new tab, with no web address entered. So, it somewhat works, but stops at some moment. Same with instant hotspot, being recognized but unable to establish a connection.

Good thing is: these fixes also fixed bluetooth not disabling until a full restart. Now I can disable and re-enable bluetooth with no problems.

Problems:
- MacBookPro14,3 not recommended. Use MacBookPro14,1 or MacBookPro11,1.
- ACPI/origin files are too old to compare against ACPI/patched (you forgot to press F4)
- configuration for BCM BT looks ok (BrcmPatchRAM kexts). Problem is likely due to incompatible hardware/firmware within the BT controller.

- Changed from 14,3 to 14,1 (changing all, serial, udid etc). Rebooted. Problem remains.
- ACPI files were not extracted again because they are not needed. Those are the latest ACPI files after last hardware/bios changes, and those are the ones that were patched and included in api/patched. I haven't modified anything in the system since then.
- I am not sure about what happens here. Mine is a DW1560, same vendor id and same model as the one included as supported and tested in your kexts. This one exactly:
  • [0a5c:216f] Dell DW1560 (4352/20702)
So, is not supposed to work fine?
