Comments:
This is based off the CustoMac Build. A few noteworthy bits… I went with a Noctua cooler and I chose the low profile memory modules to accommodate its size. Also, I picked the Sonnet PCI card for FireWire functionality. I went with a PCI rather than newer PCIe to preserve a PCIe slot. It seems to work fine and includes two FW800 and a single FW400 port.
The build was easily overclocked to 4.5 GHz with a Geekbench score of 16100+.
About This Build:
What I particularly wanted to share is this series of detailed videos I put together on this build. These are geared towards Mac users who may not be familiar with such things. Hopefully this will help those looking to dip their toes into building a hackintosh for the first time. Comments and suggestions are welcome!
Thanks for a great resource here and hopefully this effort can help.
