Hi Folks,
Thanks for your advice in advance!
I'm unable to locate external drives or even a keyboard through my usb 3.0 ports. My build is as follows:
PROCESSOR: i7-4930k Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz
MOBO: ASUS Rampage IV Gene LGA 2011 Intel X79 Micro ATX
RAM: 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 4095 MB
Before I got nothing out of the 3.0 ports, after following the advice on harmoniser's thread (http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks-desktop-support/139074-usb-3-0-problems-ga-x79-up4-i7-4930k.html) given by Jbauman5 of:
Now my externals show a light when I plug them in and I can feel the hard drive spinning. But I do not see them in the finder or in disk utility. I would love to use all of my available 3.0 ports (I edit video for a living). Thanks again for your help and if I've left anything important out please let me know, I'm new to this hackintosh build world.

- Peripherals > Device Config > xHCI Hand-OFF > ENABLED (the default, but good to check)
- Peripherals > Device Config > EHCI Hand-OFF > ENABLED
