you can just install over Mavericks i saw someone said it earlier on here and tony said that will work so give it ago I'm going to do this to keep everything also make sure to do to a time machine back up before updating

Into the installer now, fresh drive with guid. Getting stuck on 8 minutes where the log says it is extracting the essentials.pkg from unibeast. Gonna wait this one out for a while but my machine seems totally hung, mouse is not responding.

Unibeast used successfully as an update from Mavericks. Its important to reset Bios defaults if your flash drive isn't visible from boot. Multibeast also successful on the my second try(froze on reboot and hand to reinstall Yosemite).
