Unable to get on-board ALC1220 to work

hi, i have read this thread wondering where i stand with hdmi audio, i have normal audio working at the front of my case and the rear ports, but no hdmi (through the speakers on the screen) nothing identified hardware wise. I have 10.12.6 / KL cpu / z270 k3 MB thanks

ALC1220 has nothing to do with HDMI audio. No native macOS HDMI audio on non native hardware. Your HD630 has 2 HDMI audio codecs, see HDMI Audio AppleHDA/cloverHDMI

so basically in order to get get hdmi audio working, i need to follow that process? thank you
