Hi all,

I installed a triple boot system using ReHabMan's guide. All is working great I have win7, ML 10.8.2 and Ubuntu. Here is the question. When I turn on the machine the chimera ver 1.11 boot loader boots to ML automaticaly. I get the screen with the ICON for Chimera and the bar that has the blue color and disappears until boot. If I interrupt it with a down arrow or something then I get the menu screen with all three Icons for me to choose what to boot. Is there a way to make it go to this menu instead of auto booting to ML?

Got it set timeout in chimera.boot.plist to 0. Works great.

I believe the Chameleon Wizard utility has an option for that, have a look for it and let me know if you can't find it in the CW UI!

Sounds like you ended up installing grub to the HDD *device* (/dev/sda) instead of the Linux partition (/dev/sda7). You will at least have to re-install Chimera to get Chimera back as your boot loader. At that point, you will have to at least re-install Linux, unless you can figure out how to fix grub so it is installed to the Linux partition (I never could, but I'm a Linux noob). BTW, The step you missed or did incorrectly is step H.12 (the one marked IMPORTANT!).

I imagine the reason Chimera on your Unibeast doesn't show Linux is for the same reason... there is no grub on that partition.

Thanks for the answer, you are right i installing grub to the HDD *device* (/dev/sda) instead of the Linux partition (/dev/sda5 in my case). i have re-install Chimera to get Chimera back as my boot loader so i have re-install Linux and installing grub to Linux partition (/dev/sda5).
After do that i reboot and i see again grub on boot, i have to put unibeast usb again to load ML, W8,and the good news Ubuntu appear on Uniibeast Usb.
So i try to re-install Chimera to get Chimera back as your boot loader but doesn't work !
What I forgot to do ?
Thanks again

Run gptsync on Linux, then re-install Chimera.

Thanks but it's doesn't work ...
I run gptsync on ubuntu sudo /cdrom/gptsync /dev/sda

I assume you don't have a 4k drive... (No mention of that above).

I think I ran into this once during my process (because I did the same as you and installed grub to the device instead of the partition).

I think for some reason, Chimera refuses to install correctly. What you might try is installing the Windows boot record using the Windows recovery environment. Once you have the Windows boot record in place, then try the automated Chimera install.

You could also do some research on how to install Chimera/Chameleon manually. I think your case is just a matter of having the Chimera boot record to the device.

I think when I did this I had limited luck, and ended up starting all over again. And... I think that's why I labeled that step "IMPORTANT!"

* indicates that your windows partition is set as active, use fdisk to set boot flag to partition #1

Chimera should reinstall boot0 to MBR but in case it didn't, do it manually. Look in /usr/standalone/i386 for the files you need.
Don't use OSX fdisk tool when windows is present, only fdisk440

fdisk440 -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdisk0
