Hello,

Where did you read that the Apollo won't work with Thunderbolt Cards. I have the GA Z270xp-SLI with the GA alpine ridge thunderbolt card and can't get the darn thing to work. Ca you tell me where you read that Apollo doesn't work with cards?

You can find the info on the Universal Audio Homepage, FAQ. The say that "PCIe to Thunderbolt adapters, Thunderbolt to FireWire adapters, and Thunderbolt hubs are not tested or supported and may cause unexpected behavior." Here's the link: https://help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/215733823-Apollo-Twin-Thunderbolt-Windows-Compatibility

Ok, so I put my build together, downloaded the High Sierra GM, extracted it to a USB, installed the latest clover onto it, with only two options ticked. I had to get the fake SMC, apfs efi and two USB kexts and put it in the clover folder, and that is all!

High Sierra installed perfectly. EVERYTHING then works out of the box.

Usb 2.0, usb 3.0, usb 3.1, thunderbolt 3, Vega works ootb, sleep wake etc

This 7700k 5ghz hackintosh smokes my actual 2013 trashcan Mac pro

No kidding? Sounds awesome :D maybe you could list up the parts you have finally used in this build?
Thank you all for giving so many helpful answers here!!

Could you be more specific about which motherboard you used. "Custom Built" is what you have listed in your profile.

Very cool, thank you very much!
Using a different Case & a differenct CPU Cooler should'nt have any influence on the functionality of the system, right?

I think I will give it a shot, then. Will be my first hackintosh. Exciting... :) is there a certain installation guide you have followed while building this Computer?

@arjunchawda - Congratulations! Sounds like really great build.
Could you share with us, which system definition did you use?

Best,
fm
Absolutely! Thank you.
I used the iMac 18.3 definition.

The only issue I'm having at the moment, which I'm following an ssdt patching guide, is the USB 3.0 ports not working.

@arjunchawda , could you maybe send a link to the build you have followed? That would be a great help to me.

Hi mate I want to build your computer @arjunchawda looks great.

Can you please or someone else tell me what other graphics cards will install natively? The one you suggested is a bit expensive for me. How did you know?

I like that everything works even sleep and wake. Thanks
