The Next CustoMac Mini on Sandybridge and Lion - ITX,HD3000

I found this firewire card. Would it work? It's supposed to be Mac compatible. http://www.manhattan-products.com/en-US/products/5755-firewire-400-pci-express-card

Check out my 1st build description in my signature block. I have have Dynex FW800/400 card which works OOB. I have also have a link to Other World Computers' FW page; since OWC caters to Macs, these FW cards will work.

Have anyone tested such a config that is fully working?

Yes- that configuration works- but we're still fighting HDMI audio.

Your best bet is to go onto Gigabytes site and see the tested memory modules. You are taking a gamble if not, unless you can find others that have it listed at functionally fully. Just my two cents

Thanks, Tony. For an HTCP/Plex/Minitosh, do you think HD 3000 Onboard Graphics + eventual HDMI audio will be powerful enough with an i3-2105 to drive 1080p + 5.1 H264 m mkvs via HDMI?

that hdmi audio must be tricky

eager to try chimera when my courier gets tired of looking at by h67n usb3 board in the back of his van
and musters up enough energy to deliver the damn thing
(3 days in the van) so far
how some of these guys have jobs ill never know
