The everything works Asus Z390-I Gaming * i7-8700K * SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64 Build

I had this issue a week ago. Went away after I cleaned up the NVRAM and hasn't come back since but not really sure if that's what fixed it.If you try the new EFI, pick the last option to reset NVRAM, then reboot.

No guarantee it will fix it, it seems to be a real pain in the rear.
Alas, this does not help :(

replacing the boot.efi (/System/Lib/CoreServices) from 10.15.3 appears to fix the bios reset issue. It has for me anyway, but have been reading elsewhere that doesn't work with opencore.

I've yet to make the switch to OpenCore so I can't comment, but I feel like I'm going to need to switch soon. And hey, looks like ModMike has already hashed it out for this same build I'm running (more or less) so maybe sooner... :)

Do you mean that I should replace the boot.efi file from 10.15.4 with the older one from 10.15.3?

Are you losing your BIOS settings or do you just get a post error? Did you try to load the BIOS profiles I sent? I searched and there are a few things that have been established. To paraphrase:
  1. It is not a boot loader issue
  2. It's not a kext issue
  3. It appears to be something that tries to write to RTC following a system crash or push button reset and ends up corrupting the BIOS checksum.
It's not the first time RTC has been a pain. Maybe the reason I don't have it anymore is because I always use the OSX restart function and have not had any crashes.

Its been a week since I saw it and I rebooted about 50 times in the last few days to test boot loader GUI's. I am sure both popular boot loaders will get fixed soon.

I got an error message. Then I press F1 to go into BIOS, then F10 and Enter.

Same here, updated to 10.15.4. Started getting the Bios Safe mode. F1, Exit and continue without losing settings. (Good time to save a profile anyway)

Tried the RTCExclude ranges with the RTCFixup kext, and spent some time trying to hone in on a range that worked, but even excluding the full range did not help.

Was not due to a crash, or pressing the reset button. Always just a normal reboot. Something in that process apparently tries to do something to RTC and corrupts the checksum.

Replace boot.efi from 10.15.3, and haven't had the issue since. I'm not overly keep on replacing system files as I'd prefer to keep things as clean as possible. I tend to have pretty lengthy uptimes, so it wasn't a huge... just slightly annoying.

@ModMike

I think I solved my sleep problem. Tonight my Mac didn’t wake up even once. I changed tcpkeepalive from 1 to 0.

Commands for the terminal: sudo pmset -a tcpkeepalive 0

Here is the log file:
