The web Drivers for Nvidia in High Sierra and Mojave are terrible for AMD CPUs. A R9 270-280 would beat it in performance levels at a lower price point for MacOS and you could go all the way to Big Sur with it if you’re on a budget. Unless you want to dual boot and game with it the AMD cards work better for AMD CPUs in OSX.I was thinking of leveraging on the Nvidia 1080 cards that were going to be sold at a cheaper price point when everyone zooms for the RTX 3000s.
I know the Ryzens are great but have no experience with AMD GPUs and haven't heard many great things about the heat and noise frankly, where can I refresh this view?
Now that said Shaneee is working on CPU performance bugs for AMD CPUs which may fix the issue.
