I no longer use mine as I have no room for it.
I only ever used it as a server so audio was never a concern but I recall that VoodooHDA worked and my Logitech S150 USB speakers did too. Why nothing works for you I have no idea.

Edit : Have you tried the file attached to Post #36 ?

on a clean install of El Capitan under clover, the sound works perfectly.

I try now to upgrade to Sierra but it doesn't work (thread crash)

Could use some help. Constantly getting Still waiting for root device error. Has anyone experienced this and if so did you fix it and how?

I had the same thing recently. Change to AHCI inside the BIOS.

My problem is different. Now I'm stuck in
SMC: successfully initialized
If I boot -v -x (safe mode) it runs ok, but won't boot otherwise.
Any adivse?
