i first changed my machine to imac 14.2
downloaded the files (based on my system)
downloaded the beta (after setting to iMac 14.2)
generated the installer usb based in my setup
for x58 i only needed to add PctrootUID=0 the get to installer
after install booted ok
but....when i installed the nvidia web driver(for sierra)
no booting i get the black background with the white apple. progress bar goes half way then reboots:confused:
in obviously missing a setting or kext....
a work in progress....
methinks a little more reading.....

Did you set nvda_drv=1 in your config.plist?

Will the same config.plist file provided by Tonymac for El Capitan on x58 boards work?

Should work if you change the Mac System Definition to iMac14,2 or MacPro5,1. If you use MacPro5,1 you need the patch for AppleTyMCEDriver to keep the kext from causing KP on boot.

I've found I get a significantly higher Geekbench score with MacPro5,1 than iMac14,2, keeping everything apart from SMBIOS in config.plist the same. MacPro5,1 is approximately 50% higher in single and multi-core 64-bit, bringing the results back in-line with those obtained in El Capitan/MacPro3,1.

I agree - iMac14,2 is not the best system definition for an X58 based build. My sig build gets the following with Geekbench 64bit with a MacPro5,1 system definition

I could probably up that with a Xeon 6 core but I do not need to. So far it has held up to everything I have thrown at ti for the last 6 going on 7 years.
