[SUCCESS] i7 4790k & MSI R9 290 on El Capitan (10.11.3)

Hey Guys,

just wanted to share my succsess with you, after spending more than 3days to get things working & hopefully can help others with that

Firstly my Specs:

• Case: Bitfenix Prodigy M
• Mainboard: GA-Z97M-D3H
• CPU: i7 4790k
• GPU: MSI R9 290 GAMING G4
• RAM: 2 x 4GB Kingston HyperX
• Storage: 2 x 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD
• Display 2x23" HP Pavillion 23xi

Im running now Mac OSX El Capitan 10.11.3, as Bootloader iam using Clover r3330.

The biggest Challange was to get the R9 290 working, as there is no Information out there how you can get it working on 10.11.3 . So here is my Config in Clover (no kext patching needed!).

Inject ATI [x]
FakeID: 0x67B01002
FBName: Baladi (Radeon does not work !)
Video Ports: 4 (As my Card has only 4)

As SMBIOS i set the MacPro6,1 (iMac14,2 worked too, but Pro is nicer )

Multimonitor is running from boot! Not necessary to plug one out for booting ...
Its running and FULL QE/CI Only the GPU Temps were not displayed in HW Monitor.

Iam trying to understand how you add those datas into Clover:

When i use Clover i can only select inject ATI but i dont see any options for choosing the FakeID or the FBName ... Do you have a tutorial i could refer to ?

I found where FakeID, FBName, and Video Ports settings in clover.

But i can't find where ATI Connectors Data and ATI Connectors Patch is ...

please let me know if iam on the right tracks.

Iam sorry for the late Reply. Here is mine config.plist file, hopefully it will help you to understand how to add the needed Flags My Tipp is, use Clover Configurator ! Config-File -> View attachment config.plist.zip

I am bit confused by Clover Configurator. i looked into a couple of tutorials and mounted my efi partition and edited the plist: EFI > CLOVER > config.plist
I put all the settings that you specified, saved the file, then i rebooted, but nothing changed. It doesn't seem to pick up any the of the clover configuration. Am i missing a step ?

When i open the efi partition i got a list of 6 plist to choose from, should i edit all of them ?

Its very important to set up the efi partition correctly (Look here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/287737-how-toclover-on-efi-partitionadd-to-bios/ ). Then make sure you saved your config.plist in the right destination You only have to edit the config.plist which is in EFI/Clover .. On boot up, make sure you boot from your internal drive and not from your Installer !! Thats it, Good Luck !

Hey champ thanks for the info for the gpu
Works perfectly.. I just have to change the refresh rate when I boot so I don't get the lines

Just a few questions of u don't mind
Have u got hdmi audio working??
And sleep/wake
I'm about to give up n buy a new gpu
