mywhitenoise,
You didn't try too hard, then. I used the forum's search function and came up with this build description for the GA-Z97X-UD5H motherboard.
http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-buil...e-ram-evga-gtx-760-a.html?highlight=Z97X-UD5H

My apologies, I must have been trying to look for a i5-4690K/Z97X-UD5H build. That guide worked out (so far) well last night. I haven't had much time with it, but no sleep/audio issues right off the bat. Now I just need to familiarize myself with Clover/Configurator.

Thank you for the great guide. Everything went quite well.

I have the following hardware list:

GA-Z87X-UD7 TH (Rev1.0) (Bios “F4” the latest)
i7-4770K
1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB
Corsair Vengeance 32GB
256GB SAMSUNG 840 Pro (Yosemite)
128GB SAMSUNG 840 Pro (Windows 7)
Corsair H100i
SeaSonic SS-750KM3 750W
Fractal Design Define R4 Case

I followed your guide and tried to match your Bios setup as best I can. I've noticed that at Step 6, # 31 & 32, I only get sound when “Internal Speaker” is selected, not “Line Out”. I guess this isn’t a big deal.

When booting, on occasions I get the Clover Christmas or the Happy New Year theme. Is there a reason for not getting the Bootcamp theme consistently?

I know I don’t have the same hardware as you, but can you advise if there are any additional/substitute setting I would need to add/change etc…? And is there a way to get the WiFi on the motherboard working?

Thank you again for the great guide and your help.

Followed the guide to help get me to be able to log back in to yosemite through clover. I had to re install nvidia web drivers to get them to work again.

Only problems I have are:

  • I still don't have any audio devices showing up in system info even though I installed the drivers through MB.
  • The computer takes about 20 secs to shut off after OS X has shutdown
  • At startup after login, I get a "You shut down your computer because of a problem" error even though it shut down by itself. The report that follows shows a CPU 5 kernel panic,
  • Clover keeps using themes I never installed(Christmas, NewYear, Merglaian?) and rotates between them. Clover picks which one it wants to use lol
  • EDIT: Found another issue. The time sync fix doesn't seem to working with Windows 8.1

Everything else works great. Bluetooth, all USB ports, performance is nice. Just have annoyances I need some help with

This member seems to have been exhibiting the same problem with the themes and he has the same board. I don't believe it has anything to do with the chipset.

I know it is a completely different motherboard, but I am asking for help from members who are more learned than myself in this field.

Thank you.

Wow! What a great guide Baja-King!
It went without a hitch.
I have been building Hacks for 6+ years and this was my first Clover.
I have been running almost identical hardware for almost 2 years on ML, then Mavericks and today went to Yosemite. iMessage is not a big deal for me on the hacks as I have real Macs also but the rest of iCloud is kind of a big deal for me since I frequently remote in with Back to my Mac when I'm out.
Everything installed without issue and I am currently using the Migration Assistant to transfer everything over.
I use mine strictly for video processing and don't even have speakers connected to it.
I also have a ga-z97x-UD5H on Yosemite that I used MB to setup and took a couple days to get it to run smooth. It has occasional issues that are annoying, usually coming out of sleep. I will be redoing that one with Clover next and I hope it goes as smooth as this did using your guide. At least I now have a (very) basic understanding of the Clover process.
Again, thank you for the marvelous guide!

Update:
After using the migration assistant, I have decided it would have been better to just manually install the programs and settings. It got all jacked-up and although I got it to run, I decided to just revert to the backup I made after initial installation.

One week out and no major issues, just a small annoyance or two, nothing big.
On a side note, I used this very guide to install Clover/Yosemite to my ga-z97x-UD5H/I7-4790k, changing just a few kexts and it has been working flawlessly with no hiccups at all!**

I am quite annoyed with that New Years theme on Clover which is persistent regardless of the theme I install so I just set Clover to quick boot which goes strait from bios screen to OS X boot.

I OC'd the Z77 to 4.2Ghz through the multiplier and it seems pretty stable running speed-stepped between 1.6 and 4.2

The Z97 is running only TurboBoost and will run very stable between 797khz and 4.4Ghz

**of course no iMessage but that's not a big deal since I have several real Macs that I use for that.

Use the themes tab in the tools section of the clover configurator to remove the annoying Xmas and New Years themes

I will try that.

Thanks again.

i've got the z97x-ud5h. much of what i read here has helped so i'm posting for help again.

i'm getting pretty frequent kernel panics—at least one a day. i'm not sure what to do to diagnose it. how important is system definition? mine's still listed as a macmini server. i haven't figured out clovenator yet to change it. i copied the problem report but i'm not sure what to do with it. any ideas? thanks.

is this telling me it's possibly a ram problem? i'm running Crucial Ballistix Tactical Low Profile 32GB.

thanks,
