I'm using the method used by the FB Patcher app.

You have to have to AppleALC.kext in /Library/Extensions. Here are the files in my /L/E:

That is it. Have no problems and I believe it is update proof (famous last words!).

The RX 580 might be total overkill for @TheDave's audio production build. To save some money but still benefit from the silent mode and wide fan-stop range of higher-end Sapphire cards, I recommend the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 570 4GB I am using. FWIW, The DAW Avid Pro Tools 2018.10 leaves alone the iGPU and all but hammers my RX580. All it's doing is drawing the screen and running the Avid Video Engine (for scoring to picture, post, etc) ...

For those who have the same build as awesome @HackaShaq and cannot get the two Ethernet ports to work, you'll have to do this.

requirements: download AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext

1) inject using KextBeast in /Library/Extensions/ folder (not /System/Library/Extensions/)
2) placing it in the macOS version (mine's Mojave so I put it in my 10.14 folder after mounting EFI using Clover Configurator)
3) placing it in the other folder (right smack beside 10.14 folder in this case)

I tried steps 2 and 3 first and didn't get anything to work. Once i tried injecting using KextBeast, it worked.

I'm not entirely sure if you even need 2 or 3 (you might just need only 1 of these) but like the old saying goes, why bother fixing something that is not broken.

Standard stuff like the Arctic MX-4 or the Thermal Grizzly Kyronaut, are probably the most common ones.

Reinstalled on a clean state and realized that you can inject Atheros through MultiBeast without the need of going through, i.e., KextBeast.
