Because I haven't had access to a Mac / Hackintosh when I first had the build, I was completely stuck and out of choices since SL was not supported by Ivy Bridge CPUs, but in the end I got a Mac and made my UniBeast USB and everything went superbly smooth. If you are a newbie I HIGHLY recommend using the specs I used.

For $1250, I got myself a reasonably-spec'ed computer that can run OS X with ease. I heavily use Aperture, iPhoto, Photoshop, After Effects, GarageBand and many games for Mac (e.g FIFA 12) and it works perfectly fine and fast. Noise is OK- PSU is kinda noisy but it's not too loud.

Choosing components: I planned on visiting CustoMac Buyers' Guide and took notes of what parts were available and which I'd need. I already had a working Wi-Fi card and a 1TB HDD on hand, which made shopping a bit shorter.

Assembly: As the first-ever PC I've ever put together, I guess I didn't do bad.

Issues faced: No access to a computer running OS X, but eventually got one. Later then I had trouble with Kernel panics/system crashes because of the faulty RAM. Then came the issue of (cpus=1-or-system-freezes issue). Other than that, Installation was easy and pretty much straight-forward.

Dude, well done! I just bought GA-H77-DS3H today and its motherboard version is 1.1, what about yours, ver 1.0?

When I install Moutain Lion with UniBeast - Mountain Lion 1.5.3, everything seems fine. My Gigabyte GTX680 is recognized natively. But after I install MultiBeast - Mountain Lion 5.0.2 and restart, I got a white screen and halt there.

I have no idea what to do with the white screen, anything I could do to skip the halt or have to reinstall moutain lion?

Jason

Yes, my motherboard is rev. 1.0
I had the same issue with the 660 Ti. I booted with GraphicsEnabler=No. Mountain Lion has native support for Kepler (6xx) cards so no drivers from MultiBeast are necessary. Just the essentials, Audio and Network are needed. :)

I bought a 660ti but I can't get OpenCL to work with or without the multibeast graphics update (670/680/w.e), any idea how to get it to work?

When I installed ML I didn't have to install Graphics kexts at all. It's working perfectly OOB with OpenCL and everything, but all I needed was GraphicsEnabler=No. Maybe EVGA cards work natively but other manufacturers (Slugnet's was Gigabyte) need drivers.

Messege to TKhaldi's,

i am planing to make similar build,
CPU : i5 3570K
Motherboard : H77 DS3H
Video card : GTX 560 Ti or 6870

did you face any problem in instaling the Mountin Laion?
It is possible to make a youtube video about the installing the hardware?

Thank you

Hello I'm building the same Mac than you but with a different procesor (i5 3570k).

I have a little question about the graphic card, have you checked if OpenCL is running?
Is the OpenCL working natively?

thanx!
