This is my third attempt to build a Hackintosh. First, I have tried to with a HP laptop, but I've had many problems with the build since the hardware was brand new; the CPU and Intel GPU were not properly support. Not even in the tonymacx86 community. Also, the laptop build quality was not what I expected.
My second attempt was about a year and a half ago using pretty much the same config as above without the GPU (used the integrated Intel GPU), and I couldn't make it even to boot the OSX installer properly, I had a lot of problems with it and could not waste any more time to try to fix them as Ii needed a fully functional Mac ASAP. So I bought the last generation of MacBook Air.
My third attempt was a couple of days ago and the above configuration actually worked flawless without the GTX 1050 (used only the integrated Intel GPU). Now I have put the GTX 1050 in the build, but it does not actually work properly.
Updated Installation
I used the standard guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/u...pitan-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.172672/
I had to first update the UEFI of the motherboard (via Ethernet) and then set the following:
- Disable VT-d
- Disable IO Serial
- Disabled IO Parallel
With MultiBeast I then set the following:
- Quick Start > UEFI Boot Mode
- Drivers > Audio > Realtek > ALC892
- Drivers > Audio > Audio 100 Series Audio
- Drivers > Misc > The FakeSMS options (to monitor fans/temperature)
- Drivers > Network > Intel > AppleIntelE1000e v3.3.6
- Drivers > USB > Increase Max Port Limit
- Customization > System Definitions > iMac > iMac 17.1
NVIDIA Driver:
- Install 378.10.10.10.25.102 for High Sierra 10.13.2 from HERE
- Install AGDPfix.app.zip from HERE -> do this step only if after installing the Nvidia driver the screen goes black
What works
- System boots
- Display is identified correctly
- GPU works
- Ethernet works
- The USB works correctly
- iBook works
- iMessages
- GPU does not send audio signal through HDMI
- Sleep function does not work after installing AGDPfix. It sort of worked before that in the sense that the screen would turn black, the mouse could still be seen but after moving it or pressing a key the system would wake and could be used.
What's next
- the only thing I want to add next is a NVMe SSD. Which will happen in about a week.
Thanks
