When I first put the card in my X299 I had an issue where the monitor connected to USB-C was not detected from boot - no signal. I had to unplug and replug the connector, and then it came online normally.Good to know. If I remove the display port and plug back in, its back up. So it seems like its not holding onto the signal. Weird.
Shortly afterwards I realised I still had DeviceProperties entries in my OC config.plist intended for my Vega 64 GPU, which was both renaming the GPU to "AMD RX Vega 64 16GB" and setting device ID etc
As soon as I removed that, the GPU was named correctly and all ports work fine on boot, and after sleep/wake.
So do double check you don't have any SSDTs or DeviceProperties that you put in for your old GPU that might be affecting this one
