Hey there, thanks for sharing this. Am I right to think you're using the stock cooler @4,1GHz? Would you mind sharing how you went about overclocking? Also, how did you get better results (geekbench I assume) by editing the smbios?

Cheers

Yes, I'm currently using the stock cooler @4,1Ghz, with a good case airflow, ambiant temperature is 31° according to iStats.
I just changed the multiplier is the BIOS, 41x. nothing else. in my smbios, i added 4100Mhz as you can see there :

What does adding the info to the smbois? Why not set the BIOS itself? I ask because I've never seen it done that way before.

I don't know what it does but it looks better in About This Mac, it recognize my overclock if I modify my SMBIOS. Plus i got higher benchmarks, about 200 points over non-modified smbios. you're free to test if you want, but it's mainly cosmetic :headbang:

- Boot to Lion, everything except the sleep and the video should work

EDIT 10/19: Fully modified guide

I am about to start a very similar build to yours. You said everything but the sleep and video should work. What you mean by the video not working? Do you mean the graphics do not work?

Just trying to understand before I get started.

There is video but no QE/CI. I didn't have the right resolution!
Graphics works with HD5450 with ATInjector

Very very satisfied with this computer.
I'll upgrade the graphic card for Christmas, it will be awesome :headbang:

Hi there. Nice job on your hackintosh! I am currently struggling to get mine up and running with the same board. I have got it to run the OS, but so far not to boot without the iboot disc, the audio is... shall we say, a bit crunchy, and the graphics are stuck at 1024x768. I haven't installed the 10.6.8 update yet, currently in the processs. ANyway, my question for you is, how do i tell what version of the bios i have, and how do I update it to f8 to be able to use the latest dsdt? I am fearless, but clueless, so any advice you have would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks
About your problems, try to upgrade to Lion and then follow my instructions, it should work.
About the Bios, you can check it on the startup of you computer. And I flash it on Windows, but there are other solutions
