Still Waiting for Root Device! Mountain Lion 10.8.3 pre-installation

Hello Everybody,

It is my first time trying to install mac on a PC and I am running into a problem while following this guide:

If I boot with -v -x cpus=1 i get to the installation screen and as soon as start the installation, it freezes (including mouse, numlock, capslock keys unresponsive)

my system specs are:

HP Pavilion G6
Intel Core i5-3210M 2.5ghz
750gb HDD
8gb ddr3 sdram


If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it.

It seems like you got further than I did when I encountered the waiting for root device error. What worked for me was using a USB 2.0 port rather than a USB 3.0.

I ran into that problem too but now I have this crazy problem...

use the top 2 usb2.0 or bottom the ones. the 2 on lan have known issues aka still waiting for root device also cause sleep issues.
