I have two Samsung 870 EVO SSDs (port 5 and 6 on the motherboard) that are disappearing when I boot into the big sur installer. They don't show up in Disk Utility.

When I reboot into High Sierra they remain invisible. I have to literally unplug my box (though NVM reset works sometimes too) to get them back.

I see the following in the opencore logs, but I'm not certain if it's relevant:

02:629 00:028 OCJS: Got APFS super block for 5CB03DDB-7E25-D14D-864F-B5CEBEAB28DA
02:657 00:028 OCJS: Missing JumpStart for 5CB03DDB-7E25-D14D-864F-B5CEBEAB28DA
02:685 00:027 OCJS: Failed to read JumpStart for 5CB03DDB-7E25-D14D-864F-B5CEBEAB28DA - Unsupported
02:713 00:028 OCJS: Got APFS super block for 0951F53D-181A-EA4B-BC29-F607CCD111A7
02:741 00:027 OCJS: Missing JumpStart for 0951F53D-181A-EA4B-BC29-F607CCD111A7
02:769 00:028 OCJS: Failed to read JumpStart for 0951F53D-181A-EA4B-BC29-F607CCD111A7 - Unsupported

Edit:

- AHCI enabled in bios
- Both drives formatted APFS with GUID partitions

Thanks for any insights.

Do you have a specific apfs.efi driver or ApfsDriverLoader.efi in your /CLOVER/drivers/UEFI folder?

Using a specific APFS driver is not recommended as it will only work with a specific version of the APFS firmware.

ApfsDriverLoader.efi will load the correct version associated with a booted version of macOS. This is why it is recommended over the use of a specific APFS driver.

Having the same problem after updating Clover. How do I get the ApfsDriverLoader.efi?

It will be in the /CLOVER/drivers/UEFI folder, if selected during the Clover customisation stage.

Copy of ApfsDriverLoader.efi driver is attached below.
